Legal terms and conditions governing your use of our services

  • "Course" includes all educational programs, workshops, tutorials, and related materials

  • "Account" means your registered user account with Storntotem

Eligibility and Account Registration

Age Requirements

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • Users aged 13-17 require parental consent for enrollment
  • We reserve the right to verify age and identity

Account Responsibilities

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Maintain and update your account information

Course Enrollment and Payment Terms

Course Registration

  • Course enrollment is subject to availability and instructor approval
  • We reserve the right to limit class sizes for educational quality
  • Prerequisites must be met before enrollment in advanced courses
  • Course schedules and content may be modified with reasonable notice

Payment and Fees

  • All fees must be paid in full before course commencement unless payment plans are arranged
  • Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable
  • Payment processing fees may apply for certain payment methods
  • We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice

Refund Policy

  • Full Refund: Available up to 7 days before course start date
  • 75% Refund: Available 3-6 days before course start date
  • 50% Refund: Available 1-2 days before course start date
  • No Refund: After course commencement, except in exceptional circumstances
  • Medical or emergency situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Refunds are processed within 14 business days to the original payment method

Course Attendance and Participation

Attendance Requirements

  • Regular attendance is essential for course completion
  • Students must attend at least 80% of scheduled sessions
  • Make-up sessions may be available for excused absences
  • Excessive absences may result in course withdrawal without refund

Student Conduct

Students are expected to:

  • Treat instructors and fellow students with respect
  • Participate constructively in class activities
  • Follow studio guidelines and safety protocols
  • Respect others' creative work and intellectual property
  • Maintain a professional learning environment

Disciplinary Actions

Violations of conduct expectations may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Temporary suspension from classes
  • Permanent expulsion without refund
  • Restriction from future enrollment

Intellectual Property Rights

Our Content

All course materials, including but not limited to:

  • Instructional videos and demonstrations
  • Written tutorials and guides
  • Software and digital tools
  • Assessment criteria and feedback forms
  • Website design and functionality

Are protected by copyright and remain the exclusive property of Storntotem. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Student Work

  • You retain ownership of your original artwork created during courses
  • You grant us a non-exclusive license to display your work for promotional purposes
  • We may photograph or record your work for educational documentation
  • You may opt out of promotional use by notifying us in writing

Third-Party Content

  • Some course materials may include third-party content under license
  • Students must respect all third-party intellectual property rights
  • Unauthorized use of licensed materials may result in legal action

Use of Services and Prohibited Activities

Permitted Use

You may use our Services for personal educational purposes in accordance with these Terms.

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Share account access with others or create multiple accounts
  • Record, copy, or redistribute course content without permission
  • Use our Services for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or extract our proprietary methods
  • Engage in any fraudulent or illegal activities
  • Harass, intimidate, or discriminate against others
  • Upload malicious software or attempt to disrupt our systems
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Technology and Online Services

Technical Requirements

  • You are responsible for maintaining compatible hardware and software
  • Stable internet connection required for online courses
  • Technical support is provided on a best-effort basis
  • Course access may be limited by technical constraints

Service Availability

  • We strive for 99% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
  • Emergency maintenance may occur with minimal notice
  • Course delivery may be modified due to technical issues

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Disclaimers and Limitations

Educational Outcomes

  • We do not guarantee specific artistic skill improvements or career outcomes
  • Success depends on individual effort, talent, and circumstances
  • Course completion does not guarantee professional certification
  • Industry placement assistance is provided but not guaranteed

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We disclaim liability for third-party content or services
  • Force majeure events excuse performance obligations

Warranty Disclaimer

Our Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

  1. Direct Negotiation: Parties will attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiation

  4. Court Jurisdiction: Courts of Victoria, Australia have exclusive jurisdiction

Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Significant changes will be communicated through:

  • In-class announcements for current students

Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any course-specific agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and Storntotem regarding the use of our Services.
